Get ready to dust off those artefacts. The museum is about to come to life once more. Ben Stiller and his host of exhibit friends are back for Night at the Museum 2.

Larry Daley (Stiller) has long since left his job as a night guard at New York's Museum of Natural History. He's now a successful inventor and seller of useless, TV-advertised gadgets, like the glow in the dark flashlight.

But he still harbors a soft spot for the museum. He's now on the board of the museum, but he can't halt progress.

His favorite artifacts and displays, including miniature figures cowboy Jedediah (Owen Wilson) and Roman warrior Octavius (Steve Coogan) are being put in storage to make way for new, interactive exhibits.

They're being packed off to the world's largest museum complex, Washington's Smithsonian. But traveling with them is also the mysterious Egyptian tablet that bring the museum pieces to life.

Mayhem is going to break out as night falls, when evil Pharaoh Kahmunrah (Hank Azaria) awakens and plots to take over the world, with a bit of help from the likes of Ivan the Terrible, Napoleon and Al Capone...
