Texas Roadtrips!
December 30, 2011 | 10:42 PM | 0 comments

Hellooooo~

I just got back from Texas roadtrips (Dec 26-29) with my 2 older sisters and their friend.

I've been to Texas a couple times before so there's really nothing new to me except... CASINO :D lol

The main reason that I wanted to go to TX with them is because I haven't been on a real roadtrip for like at least a year... and I just wanted to relax that first semester of college is finally over! It's just like a high school grad gift to myself as well since we stayed at wichita the whole summer~

Day 1 (Dec 26th)

We started our journey at around 1:30am and reached San Marcos, TX after like 12 hours of drive. Checked in at Travelodge motel, shopped at Premium Outlet, then went to San Antonio (one hour of drive from San Marcos; in the picture above) and walked around till 9pm then went back to motel.

Day 2 (Dec 27th)

On our way to Houston, TX (3 hours of drive away)...

We stopped by Jack in the Box for lunch~ the chicken strips were really good! we went to another Jack in the Box at Dallas before we left TX..

and well.. we spent pretty much the rest of the day shopping at Premium outlet and then checked in at Marriot hotel~

Day 3 (Dec 28th)

We had breakfast at Chinatown and bought 2 dozens of egg tarts to-go...

On our way to Dallas... (3 hours of drive away) and saw this statue of Sam Houston

Day 4 (Dec 29th)

After 3 hours of drive, we reached Dallas and had lunch at Tokyo One! :)

it's a japanese buffet restaurant and the green tea icecream is good~

We stopped by Winstar Casino at Thackerville, Oklahoma on our way home...

These are the outside views of the casino

Thanks to Goldfish & my sisters! I won $10 out of $5 lol :D

I used other slot machines at first and lost almost $5 in like 3 minutes then I went to play Goldfish :o

and finally... it's time to go back home! :F

it was a pretty fun roadtrip overall! =D

Took all these pictures with my new phone so the sizes of the pictures are kinda weird but I think the quality is pretty good :D

I'll post about my phone next time.. C:

Missouri Trip!
September 12, 2009 | 11:38 PM | 0 comments

school has been really busy with lots of homeworks that i couldn't even watch any dramas during the weekdays. this is also the reason that keep me away from blogging. anyway, let's talk about my missouri trip (Mid-America Chinese Christian Summer Retreat) now. ->

friday (september 4th, 2009)

my mum came to pick me up right after school so we can get home before 4pm. then eunice and her bf came to pick us.

we hit the road at about 4.30pm & arrived at our destination in Missouri at about 10pm...

it took a while before we find the place. first, we went to the registration place and they showed us where our dorm is. we even have a time schedule for everything.

saturday (september 5th, 2009)

we woke up at 7am in the morning and went to take our breakfast. after that, we went to the Deer Ridge Conference Building for meeting.

place where we had group devotion, singspiration, revival, and meeting

fyi, the camp is located on a mountain that is just next to a huge lake.
there are swimming pool and boating too. it's six dollar for a canoe or kayak per half an hour.

these pictures below are taken during break time from 12pm to 4pm after we had our lunch.

the first pic is just a random shot of a chair. lol.
anyway, try to find a small cross sign (church) on the top right corner of the second pic.

we went to canoe on the first day. i don't have the pic of us canoeing at the moment. if i got one from someone that took it, i'll post it here.

this is the small church up on the mountain. we have to walk for about 15 minutes to get there.

a view from inside of the small church.

first pic - featuring my mum & eunice. we're going down the mountain at this time. there are lots of spiderwebs along the way.

sunday (september 6th, 2009)

we did pretty much the same thing on the morning of the second day, as they had a schedule on everything already.

this is a view of the early morning after we had our breakfast. there's fog and it's pretty cold.

we sneaked out of the camp during the break time & went to an outlet mall that is about 20 minutes away from the camp.

there's people selling pups at the parking lots. this poodle is one of the pups. they are so cute!! it's only $170 each.

when we came back from the mall, i went to kayak-ing with eunice and my little sister. it was fun but kinda hot because it's already 5pm.

we found this small cave at the camp after we had our dinner. so we went in there with several other people. the pictures above are the views from outside of the cave.

i took this picture inside the cave. it's pretty dark and kind of sleeky in there.

monday (september 7th, 2009)

again, we did the same thing in the morning like the previous two days. then we had our lunch and went home at about 2pm with our friends from wichita church.

note: believe it or not. all the pictures above are taken using my phone. i love my phone camera! =)

Exhibition!
March 21, 2009 | 11:42 PM | 2 comments

continue from last post

these are the 17 tree exhibits. each of them has different story behind them. you can read the captions to know more about them

1966 - Miniature Trees & Ornaments

This colorful tree, the first in a series of 17, was inspired by J.C. Hall's interest in the Hispanis culture, dating back to his appointment by President Eisenhower to the People to People program.

1967 - Angel Tree

Hallmark's expansion into international markets in the mid-1960s influenced this tree. Alternating with the lace are the words "Merry Christmas" in many languages.

1968 - Folk Art Tree

America's interest in folk art inspired employees to create this tree with antique-looking wooden toys. Fashionably bright colors were contrasted with dark wood for an effect that was symbolic of design trends at that time.

Hallmark Visitors Center
March 20, 2009 | 11:54 PM | 0 comments

on my last post, i said i would made a post about the Hallmark Visitors Center.. so here it is

to refresh your memory, kansas city is the home to the hallmark headquarters. there's a lot of exhibits at the hallmark visitors center. actually we have no idea if it's okay to take picture inside the building, so we take one first and see if anyone stops us

Nearly 100 years of Hallmark history and world events are chronicled here. the timeline begins at 1910s and ends at 2000s. for some reasons, we only took the picture of the timeline from 1970s to 2000s.

Show the History ▼

Other than the 40-foot historical timeline, there are 17 trees exhibits too. Each of them has different themes and ornaments. well i think all of them are very beautiful!

i'll post the closer look picture of each tree next time..

here is the preview -

i love the hamster dance song, isn't it nice?
